EFFECT OF LINEAR ALKYLBENZENE SULPHONATE (LAS) ON THE ADSORPTION/DESORPTION OF Cu AND Cd IN SOIL/WATER SUSPENSION

AbstractThe pH is the main factor to affect adsorption of Cu on the tested soil sample. The amount of Cu adsorbed increased significantly under higher pH condition. The Freundlich coefficient n increases with increasing of pH, correspondingly.LAS will cause the retention of more Cu on the test soil at pH 4.66 and 5.5.No significant differences of adsorption of Cd on tested soil was observed between presence and absence of LAS.
