Abstract | Feeding experiments with semipurified diets containing crystal amino acids were conducted to determine the quantitative lysine requirement by long snout catfish (Leiocassis longirostris Gunther). The experimental diets contained fish meal, zein, gelatin and other things. With the supplementation of crystal amino acids, the lysine levels reached 1.64, 2.04, 2.44, 2.84 and 3.24%, respectively in different diets. On the basis of the growth response, the lysine requirement by long snout catfish was found to be 2.57% of diet, or 6.54% of dietary protein. |
